OverDrive

I downloaded OverDrive to my staff computer at work, updated the Microsoft Media Player and browsed OverDrive. I was surprised at how many titles required putting holds on. I was curious how one tells how many holds are currently on a title that one is waiting for so one has a realistic idea of how long it would be until it is available. I downloaded a title (Arabian Nights). I thought that there seemed to be a minimal number of titles in the areas that I looked at...but I have a wide range of taste so I think that I could always find something of interest. It's nice to see that the downloads are so actively used. I used OverDrive at home shortly after we added this option, but I haven't been an active user. I find it easier to check out music and books on cd. After doing this exercise I decided that maybe I'd try using this service again from home and listening to a book while I check e-mail, play solitaire, etc. on my computer at home. It didn't seem worth the effort of burning books to cd's, but it would be convenient to listen to them while working on the computer. I have an I-pod so I will be excited when we have the capability of downloading directly to I-pods.
